The Kinetic Rope inside the Kit:

This rope converts the kinetic energy of a towing vehicle into elastic potential energy, which greatly assists the recovery of a trapped vehicle without the need for a winch.

FEATURES:
– Allows for an even pull during recoveries
– Very useful for flat towing in tight trails
– Stretches up to +35%
– Reduced stress to vehicle components compared to static tow straps
– Professionally made in the RSA

Even Pull
Rigging a kinetic recovery rope in this manner reduces stress to
the individual recovery points on the vehicle and lessens the
chance of tweaking the frame during difficult extractions.

Kinetic
The Wild Dog 4×4® kinetic recovery rope is the ultimate recovery
rope. During vehicle extraction, the kinetic rope stretches and
absorbs enormous energy from the pulling vehicle. This energy
is then transferred to the stuck vehicle, resulting in an extremely
effective and efficient vehicle recovery.

Shock absorbing
Under max load, a kinetic recovery rope will stretch up to +35%.
This stretch helps relieve the jerking action commonly felt during
vehicle recovery, effectively reducing the amount of stress put
through a vehicle and its occupants.

WARNING

Kinetic ropes can be very dangerous if used incorrectly, both to people or property.  Because of the more than +35% stretch of a kinetic rope, the forces created with momentum can easily overcome the breaking limits of anchoring points, connectors (shackles), or the kinetic rope.  The elasticity of the kinetic rope can create a slingshot effect, which can cause serious damage or injury to people.  The manufacturer of these kinetic ropes cannot be held responsible for any damage or injury caused.

Basic Principles to keep in mind when using a kinetic rope:

– The first rule is not to expose you or your vehicle to any harm by getting stuck.

– The recovery vehicle must be of similar weight to the bogged down vehicle.

– Only use anchoring points on vehicle that are connected directly to the chassis and are rated by the manufacturer.

– Only use correct size rated connectors (shackles – Soft Shackles).

– Never use a kinetic rope on a winch or as a winch cable extension.

– Never tie knots in a kinetic rope when connecting it to a vehicle.

– Never use a damaged kinetic rope.

– Add +35% of the ropes length in the direction of pull, make a mark on the ground, and never exceed this distance with the recovery vehicle when pulling.

– Beware of bystanders in the radius of the 2 x length of the rope.

– Keep the rope clean and free from sand or grit.

CARE & MAINTENANCE

The various components of the Wild Dog 4×4® Gear are premium quality, but due to the very nature of their potential use, or misuse, they are susceptible to severe wear and tear, and to damage such as nicks, cuts, tears, fraying, burns and abrasion. Always carefully inspect Wild Dog 4×4® Gear components before each use for wear and tear, cuts, nicks, abraded, burned, melted and frayed areas. DO NOT USE the product if it is damaged, cut, frayed, burned, melted, abraded or partially unwound OR does not have a clearly legible warning label fitted. To help prolong the life of your Wild Dog 4×4® Gear components, they should be washed off, rinsed with clean fresh water and air dried at the earliest opportunity after use. Not in Direct Sunlight. To protect from external environmental weather factors, components should be stored inside the Recovery Bag / Box.

SAFETY RECOMMENDATIONS

It is recommended that the minimum breaking strength of the strap should be between 4 times the gross vehicle mass (GVM) of any vehicle it is used with. It is advised that the strap must be suited to the gross vehicle mass (GVM) of the lighter of the 2 vehicles used in the recovery process.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Use only Certified Recovery products in a RECOVERY.

  1. a)    Persons intending to use the strap should consider completing a nationally recognised four- wheel drive training course, or contact a four-wheel drive club for comprehensive advice on the proper selection and use of the strap
  2. b)    the strap must not be used for lifting or conventional towing
  3. c)     the persons intending to use the strap must ensure the strap is not damaged and is in a usable condition
  4. d)    the strap’s strength and stretch are reduced when the strap is saturated with water
  5. e)    an object such as a recovery damper, heavy bag or blanket must be draped over the strap during use to reduce any unintentional rebound of the strap
  6. f)    before attempting the vehicle recovery, passengers of the vehicles involved must:

(i) exit the vehicles

(ii) stand as far away from the vehicles as possible

(iii) avoid standing in the path of the vehicle performing the recovery
